ONR Support for the 23rd International Conference on DNA Computing and Molecular Programming

Abstract

The University of Texas at Austin is currently organizing the 23rd International Conference on DNA Computing and Molecular Programmi"ng (DNA23) to take place September 24-28, 2017. This conference emphasizes topics that bridge nanotechnology, biology and computatio"n. This symposium is intended to foster interdisciplinary research and scientific discussion based on the most recent experimental and theoretical results that promise the greatest and most immediate impact. The first special ~Nanoday~ of the conference will be devoted to a special session on the overlap of synthetic biology and DNA nanotechnology and to tutorial sessions on nanotechnology edu"cation, both of which align well with ONR Warfighter Performance goals ofdeveloping biologically inspired systems, including novel" sensors and materials. The presentation sessions during the conference will be an excellent stage for discussing new results of hig"hest quality and exchanging new ideas, which will contribute to advancing basic knowledge of physical principles that cross length s""cales, and to developing new technologies that are even now fomenting a revolution in materials design.
