Development of Xenon Based Magnetometry

Abstract

A research effort is proposed to develop and detect spin polarization in atmosphericgases, particularly in Xenon, overcoming limit""ations that have been previously identified, including a time lapse associated with electron~nuclear spin coupling, the backward las""ingthreshold, atmospheric quenching of excited states, and parasitic background ionizationprocesses. This effort will be greatly f""acilitated by new frequency tunable femtosecond lasercapabilities."" - - -
