Boron Nitride Nanotube Reinforced Titanium Matrix Composites

Abstract

This work seeks to develop Boron Nitride Nanotube reinforced Titanium Composites with superior mechanical properties. Interface engineering, chemical dispersion, spark plasma sintering and thermos-mechanical treatments would be employed to tailor the composite properties. Microstructure evolution would be examined in terms of gain refinement and interfacial product formation during processing. In situ mechanical characterization will be done to study deformation mechanisms in real time.
