Terahertz Transmission Over Dielectric Waveguide for High Speed Communication

Abstract

The effort proposes to identify suitable dielectric polymer waveguides and design/testan efficient travelling-wave power coupler enabling Terahertz (THz)-frequency (300GHz)energy produced by Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor integrated circuits (CMOSICs)" to be transmitted off-chip. This is for the application of ultra-high-speed wirelinecommunications. Addressing the ""THz gap"" (0.3"" - 3 THz), this work will blend conventionalphotonics techniques in infrared (and above) spectrum with novel millimeter-wave circui"t designmethodologies.
