Impacts of Infauna on Acoustic and Geotechnical Properties of Sediments

Abstract

Geotechnical and acoustic properties of sediments are important to seafloor mapping, acoustic detection of targets, and sediment st"ability. This project aims to characterize the impacts of infauna with different functional traits on bulk cohesive sediments bymea"suring sound speed, attenuation, and geotechnical properties of laboratory mesocosms and sediment cores.
