Improvement of Wind-Ocean-Wave (WOW) Codes and Development of Data Assimilation

Abstract

We propose to improve the computational performance and user interface of the core codes of the Wave-Ocean-Wind (WOW) computational" framework, including: WOW-wave: for phase-resolved nonlinear wave eld simulation; WOW-atmosphere: for large-eddy simulation (LES) o"f turbulent wind over ocean waves; WOW-ocean: for LES of upper-ocean currents and turbulence; WOW-wavebreaking: for multi-fuids LES of breaking waves
