Support for the Conference on Majorana Fermions and Beyond

Abstract

Title: Support of the Conference on Majorana Fermions and BeyondObjective: To communicate Navy interest and future needs with research community. To train future workforce in technical areas that are vital to DoD andthe Navy.Approach: This Majorana conference" will achieve its scientific/educational objective by incorporating invited and contributed talks, discussion sessions and informal"" tutorials. Statement of Work: PI will organize the workshop Identify and invite lecturers, run the workshop, as well as financial" management of the workshop expenses. The overall activities of the workshop will promote collaboration and dissemination of information through exchange of scientific ideas in Majorana research.ONR relevance: Majorana states and topological quantum information is one of the key thrusts under the ONR nanoelectronics program.Topological quantum computation has the potential to enable fault-"tolerant quantum information technology that has many military applications, such cryptography and quantum simulation. This conferen"ce will be an important venue where futures needs of DoD can be effectively communicated.
