Abstract:AbstractNational Guard Youth Foundation (NGYF), has partnered with Royer Studios (RS) to provide acomprehensive technolo""gy-based workforce development program to address Science,Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) deficiencies in th""e existing andfuture labor force. NGYF will serve as the lead applicant, and respectfully requests $1.5 millionover a three-year p""eriod through the Office of Naval Research (ONR) STEM Education,Outreach and Workforce Program (EOW Program) to continue the expans"ion of the innovativeresearch-based Animate My Action Plan (AMAP) initiative that engages at-risk youth andfocuses on serving unde"rrepresented populations, including young women and minorities.NGYF respectfully requests $1.5 million from ONR in support of the e""xpansion of the threephasedAMAP initiative. The total program budget is $3 million, therefore 50% of the programwill be supported" through alternative sources. These funds include an investment of $1.485million for scholarship support from state specific sources including NGOs and NGYF viacorporate sponsorship commitments and $150K from twelve additional AMAP sites.Based on current result"s of building capacity and sustainability at nine Youth ChalleNGeAcademies across the country in our first 2 years, we will identif""y twelve additional sites toexpand our efforts in years mid-2018 thru end of 2019. This would include an additional 12 sites,for a" total of 21 sites participating in AMAP by 2020. There are currently 40 YCA sites acrossthe nation.NGYF and RS have identified go"als for the AMAP initiative that showcase the comprehensivenature and projected impact of the project.~ Engage at-risk, minority a"nd disadvantaged cadets within twelve additional NationalGuard Youth ChalleNGe Academies (NGYCA) with experiential STEAM-based lear"ningopportunities, and ultimately to promote attraction to STEAM careers~ Cultivate the next generation of leaders through enhance""ment of life skills, workforceskills, and decision making skills~ Provide comprehensive mentorship support to cadets and help ensu""re their continuedsuccess professionally, academically and personally~ Serve as a model STEAM vocational training program to be re""plicated and administeredin other sites, including veteran and other military centers, Reserve Officer TrainingCorps (ROTC), youth"" correctional facilities, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Boy Scoutsof America, and Girl Scouts of America.SOW:
