Airborne Aero-Optics Laboratory-Beam Control

Abstract

Airborne Aero-Optics Laboratory-Beam ControlAbstract:We propose to take advantage of the substantial investments in two Falcon 10" test aircraft referred to as the Airborne Aero-Optics Laboratory or AAOL, to move into a new area of research. The new area of rese""arch will go beyond the effects of the flow in the immediate vicinity of the laboratory aircraft, i.e., the near-field aero-optics," and study the combined effect of the aero-optics and the extended atmospheric optical turbulence to a distant target and will address the full spectrum of beam-control issues. We propose making the separation distance up to 10 km.
