Integrated System for Repair of Composites

Abstract

The objective of this equipment proposal is to acquire an instrument system for understanding a new composite repair technique, spec"ifically a hot bond patch with fiber and pre-impregnated resin (prepreg) and wireless temperature monitoring. This system will monitor the cure cycle using feedback from high speed imaging of the resin flow in conjunction with the temperature sensors to assess the quality of the repaired structure which can then be analyzed at the microscale and compared contrasted with conventional composite repair techniques.
