Stabilized femtosecond dual-comb fiber laser system as a pump source for the mid-IR frequency-comb standoff

Abstract

The objective of the proposed project supported by the instrumentation requested, is to investigate the new concept of mid-IR dual-f"requency-comb spectroscopy with the aim of developing a technology platform for a fieldable standoff sensing capability that will ra"pidly and reliably identify traces of explosive residues, chemical and biological (CB) agents, molecules in the gas phase and their" isotopes. The research will focus on the development of an ultrabroadband mid-IR dual frequency comb system and achieve a break-thr"ough in molecular spectroscopic detection with an emphasis on high speed, high sensitivity and fidelity of stand-off detection.
