Abstract
Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) for Small CraftInspired by growing European dominance in electric and hybrid propulsion for boats (Calder, 2016; Spurr, 2010) and homebuilder innovation on display at events like the Electric Boat Association of America~s Wye Island Challenge Electric Boat Marathon (PropTalk, 2017), this white paper summarizes an education and competition program to promote electric propulsion for small craft in the United States, utilizing the Multi-Agency Craft Conference (MACC), being held July 17-19, 2018 at the United States Coast Guard Yard as the demonstration venue.
