Development of a Semester Long Video Course on The Theory, Design and Manufacturing of SiC Power Devices

Abstract

The proposed work plans to develop a 30 lecture series (a semester long) on “The Theory, Design and Manufacturing of SiC Power Devices” suitable for online dissemination via the CUSP website at the University of Minnesota. SiC power devices have been developed by Government support over the last 25 years and are now poised to be inserted in many commercial applications. With the help of Government funding, US is now the leader in manufacturing and applications of these devices. However, if we wish to continue to be a leader in this area, we should train students in the design principles, fabrication and manufacturing of these devices. This video course serves this need at minimal cost and a wide reach.
