Abstract

NA-ISMET 2018 Conference at UMNThe University of Minnesota will be hosting the 2018 North America regional meeting of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (NA-ISMET) that will be organized by Jeffrey Gralnick, Daniel Bond and Annette Rowe (Rowe is currently a postdoc at University of Southern California and negotiating two offers to start her own lab in 2018). Thedates for the meeting are October 10 ??? 12, 2018 and will be held on the St. Paul Campus. This proposal is to obtain funding for young faculty and invited speakers to travel and attend the conference. These funds will ensure that a diverse range of productive and successful researchers attend the conference, increasing the quality of research presented and the impact of this conference on the field of microbial electrochemical technologies, which is supported byONR through multiple programs. ONR funds will be used to cover the total cost for the Invited Speakers and Sponsored Speakers with any remaining funding used to help defray costs related to student travel.
