Multiscale Fabrication via Multiphoton Direct Laser Writing

Abstract

Funds are provide to Dr. Sridhar Krishnaswamy, from the Northwestern University, in the amount of $125,000.00 for the FY-18 only increment of a 3 year Grant totaling $375,000.00 for work towards the study of " Multiscale Fabrication via Multiphoton Direct Laser Writing". Some of the activities to be included in this effort include: Design of the Multi-Photon Photolithographic (MPP) Direct Laser Writer system that will integrate a 780nm laser with submicron resolution with a 380 nm laser system for large scale processing; Optomechanical integration of the one photon processing (1PP) Direct Laser Writer with the two photon processing (2PP) femtosecond laser system; Demonstration of MPP writing of photonic components ranging from simple micro-lenses to more complicated 3D ring-resonator arrays for SHM applications; Investigating Optimal Fabrication Strategies with special consideration to avoiding shadowing effects by the large scale 1PP system.
