An Active Learning Approach for Precise and Reliable UAV Formation Maneuvers

Abstract

UAV flight control is the process of deriving appropriate (and optimal, if possible,) UAV actionsbased on given mission objectives subject to specific operation environments. Harnessingintelligence observed in human brain~s decision processes is important for the development ofprecise and reliable UAV maneuvers in broad Naval aviation applications, where UAVs areoperated under unsteady and adversarial conditions. Recent technological advances provide somefoundational progress towards creating consciousness and subconsciousness in UAV modelingand control. These advances, however, mainly focus addressing consciousness andsubconsciousness separately without considering their coexistence in human brain~s decisionmaking. The lack of integrating them will lead to low adaptivity and low efficiency.
