ONR - UNOLS
Abstract
The UW intends to maintain the current UNOLS organizational structure. It starts with the UNOLS Council that represents and acts on behalf of the UNOLS Membership. The Council monitors UNOLS activities; giving attention to the effective use of available oceanographic facilities and determining the performance of UNOLS institutions in providing access to federally supported facilities for scientists from other institutions. The UNOLS Council also provides advice and guidance to the federal agencies in addition to the guidance it provides to the UNOLS Standing Committees. This proposal includes funding for two in-person meetings per year and at least one by web conference. Both the Executive Secretary and the Deputy Executive Secretary will support Council activities. The UNOLS Office provides broad support to the Council including meeting arrangements, record keeping, maintaining the UNOLS website, web postings, information and report distribution, and soliciting nominations for vacancies on committees.
