Abstract

We seek support for the 2019 Mixed Integer Programming (MIP 2019)Workshop, which will be held at MIT Sloan School of Management in Cam-bridge, Massachusetts, from July 15{18, 2019.MIP is a premier workshop series that is held annually in North Americaand is designed to encourage participation of junior researchers in integerprogramming and related areas. This year marks the 16th edition of theMIP workshop. It will consist of a single track of 21{23 invited talks, withmore than half of the speakers being junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows. The layout of the 3.5 day workshop allows for ample time for participants, especially students, to collaborate and network. The MIP 2019 Workshop will also feature a poster session as a venuefor young researchers to showcase their work to their established colleaguesin the field of integer programming. The poster session, held jointly with areception, is traditionally well attended and serves as a springboard for net-working. This year s poster session is reserved to master and Ph.D. students. Moreover, there will be a best poster award. We have received a record num-ber of poster submissions (59). Among the accepted posters that will bepresented at the workshop, the program committee will select 20?finalistsbased on their appropriateness to the workshop, that will be eligible for thebest poster award and for travel support. The program committee is requesting $6,000 from the ONR to help sup-port student travel to the MIP workshop. The requested funding wouldprovide travel funding for 12 of the 20 poster finalists, in the amount of $500for each individual.
