Scaling Excellence in the Defense Industrys Composites Manufacturing Workforce
Abstract
Funds are provided to support the development, operation, and support of an industry-relevant, manufacturing-focused, engineering training program.This is a strong proposal with an exclusive focus on composites manufacturing. The proposed effort is lead by IACMI, a Manufacturing USA Institute, and includes seven contractors and/or sub-contractors who will provide a diverse platform, and significant outreach, for the proposed program. The proposed project has a very focused goal, scaling an existing programme at Davis Technical College Composites for technician training to achieve national reach. Technical POC: Dr. William M. Mullins, william.m.mullins@navy.milThis project addresses directly the PE 0601120D8Z objectives addressing the continuing challenge in educating, training, recruiting, and retaining individuals in critical sciences and technologies that are vital to national defense now and in the future.
