Impedance transformer and electro-optic interface between SFQ circuits and superconducting electro-optic modulators
Abstract
Executive Summary:We propose to develop broadband impedance transformers as flip-chip interconnects to support high speed signal transfer between an SFQ chip and a superconducting electro-optic modulator chip (SEOM). The input of the transformer has a characteristic impedance around 4 Ohm which interfaces with a low power SFQ driver while the output impedance is designed to be 50 Ohm which matches the impedance of a traveling wave SEOM. Our team will also design and construct an electro-optic package that will provide simultaneous electrical (biases and clocks) access to the carrier chip and fiber-optic interface to the SEOM.
