HURACAN: 21" Long Range Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Abstract

"This proposal will developthe technology for a low-power electronic backbone for a novel class of long-duration,dwell-capable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs). Our proposed work will involve makingsignificant updates and enhancements to Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institutes (MBARIs) Long Range AUV (LRAUV) computing (both hardware and software) and power control/distribution systems. Theoperation of these new and extended systems will be thoroughly tested via interfaces to simulatedsensors/actuators/loads and their performance will be fully evaluated."
