Abstract

Graduate Student Funding for: Environmental Effects on Range and Geoacoustic Inferences from Ship Noise Using Vector Acoustic MeasurementsFunding to support a graduate student to pursue Ph.D. degree at the University of Washington, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering is proposed. The funding covers a three period and a combination of University departmental funds and other grants will be utilized to cover the expected nominal total period, about 4.5 years, to complete the Ph.D. The student will conduct research within a multidisciplinary area involving oceanography, underwater acoustics, with emphasis on vector acoustics.
