Red Hill Underground Fuel Storage Facility Project

Abstract

The University of Hawaii proposes to conduct two parallel research efforts in order to find methods to reduce time consuming and labor-intensive inspections and to improve repair protocols and early warning systems. These enhancements may enable Red Hill operators to have better tools for preventing or minimizing contamination from the onset of new leaks, which may help to address public concerns about a critical facility.
