Scale up of materials for optimizing high power RF systems

Abstract

Based on our Phase 1 assessment, Powerhouse proposes to fabricate large pieces of tunable dielectric materials and large area thick films to investigate the impact of manufacturing variability on high power RF applications. Based on our success in Phase 1, we will also investigate novel magneto-dielectric materials. Laboratory measurement techniques utilizing the material impedance analyzer, vector network analyzers, and high voltage equipment will be used for measuring the dielectric properties of the materials relevant for high power RF applications. The material power handling capabilities will also be assessed. This entire work will provide capabilities like self-interference cancellation, variable lens antenna, and dynamic RF shutters. The proposal is for a PoP of 18 months.
