Spatiotemporal Testbed for High Photon Density Beams

Abstract

The primary objective of this DURIP proposal is for the acquisition of equipment for a spatiotemporal testbed for research involving high photon density Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) beams for use at IR wavelengths with applications to light/matter interactions. The requested equipment will be integrated with an optical system developed by Clemson into a testbed for spatial and temporal control of these high photon density beams with OAM. This test bed will then be used in research to understand the basic limitations of the interactions and how it can be scaled using different spectral regimes, and spatiotemporal time scales.
