Online Repository for Undersea Medicine and Performance Research

Abstract

The Rubicon Research Repository (RRR), a project of the Rubicon Foundation, was created in 2006 to support the undersea medicine research community. RRR is an online database that contains an exclusive and extensive collection of academic and military reports of environmental physiology research. When RRR first started in 2006, the diving and hyperbaric medical communities had no online database available for accessing and referencing community-specific work that fell outside of the standard publication search engines. Todate, RRR now contains over 10,300 publications and abstracts in the database. Beyond continued expansion of the database, improvement of the databases searchability has been highlighted as a need within the undersea biomedical community. The proposed effort will migrate the Rubicon Research Repository to a new server environment that will allow for improved searchability and compatibility while enhancing the searchability of this undersea medicine literature database.
