Enhanced Information Comprehension via Augmented Reality (EICAR)

Abstract

In this project, we seek to investigate and leverage technological and human factors inAugmented Reality (AR) for enhanced information comprehension as an integral part of ARenhanceddecision-making processes for warfighters. In particular, we seek to develop newknowledge about human perception and cognition with AR display technologies as importantparts of the human processes forming comprehension, and introduce new visualization andinteraction methods for effective information presentation and interaction in AR. We identifiedsynergies with collaborating researchers and related scenarios, for which we seek to leverage andevaluate the developed technologies. As a seedling effort, we further seek to perform visioningefforts with stakeholders to identify insights that can guide AR research and development.
