79th Device Research Conference (2021)

Abstract

The 79th Device Research Conference (DRC) will be held virtually from June 20 to 23, 2021. Foralmost eight decades, the DRC has brought together leading scientists, researchers, and studentsto share their latest discoveries in device science, technology and modeling. Notably, many of thefirst public disclosures of key device technologies were made at the DRC. This year marks the 79thanniversary of the DRCthe longest running device research meeting in the world. Due to theongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 DRC will be held virtually (online.) The high-calibertechnical sessions will be highlighted by plenary talks and invited talks by international researchpioneers and leaders behind modern electronic technology. The DRC is technically co-sponsoredby the IEEE Electron Device Society and conference planning is done by MRS ConferenceServices. Each oral or poster presenter submits a two-page abstract. A selectionof these abstractswill be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.Key attractions of the 79th DRC include: Informative and timely shortcourse in a rapidly developing field Oral & poster presentations on electronic/photonic device experiments & simulations Plenary and invited presentations given by world-wide leaders Virtual setting encourages open technical discussion of recent advances Virtual rump session to encourage lively debate Strong student participation with special recognition through awards for Best Student Paperand Best Student PosterThe DRC is coordinated with the Electronic Materials Conference (EMC) that is held during thesame week. This recognizes the importance of interaction between device and electronic materialsresearch and provides for fruitful exchangeof information between attendees of both conferences.
