Application of Digital Thread to Develop an Intelligent Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem for Repair

Abstract

This proposal details the initial steps of a program to develop an integrated cyber-physical ecosystem that will address critical te chnology limitations and thereby enable the effective development, validation, and deployment of additive manufacturing processes fo r part repair and replacement. CCAM will develop, build, and test a proof of concept of this Intelligent Additive Manufacturing Eco system utilizing state of the art manufacturing processes and digital thread technologies informed by, and validated using, realisti c defense and industrial use cases. This project will build a dedicated testbed at the CCAM research facility and will develop & te st key technology elements focused on live quality control and process qualification for sustainment.
