2021 Naval STEM Exposition: a free community event for students focusing on Naval STEM careers.

Abstract

To address the growing problem of a diminishing technician pipeline and to improve the equality and the quantity of the future STEM workforce, the Navy League STEM Institute will host its fifth Naval STEM Exposition on August 1, 2021 a the beginning of the Navy Le ague s Annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition. This free event will showcase the importance of Naval STEM careers by highlighting Naval an d Marine Corps STEM skill sets, content, career and scholarship opportunities, facilities, personnel, and best practice programs.The event focuses on 5th - 12th grade students but is open to students of all ages, parents, and educators.The Naval STEM Exposition wi ll utilize a diverse group of highly experienced STEM professionals comprised of Navy and Marine Corps personnel (uniformed, civilia n, active duty and retired), Naval Laboratories, and contractor organizations who will engage with middle and high school students i n an informal learning environment via participation in hands-on activitiesand discussions about STEM career exploration.
