IVAR Deployments 2022
Abstract
This proposal is for funding for a research team from the Applied Physics Laboratory, University of Washington (APL-UW) to deploy tw,o Intensity Vector Autonomous Receiver (IVAR) systems from the R/V Neil Armstrong in June 2022, as part of Phase 2 of the Sediment C,haracterization Experiment (SBCEX22). The primary goal of SBCEX22 concerns the study of acoustic propagation in fine-grained, mudd,y sediments within the New England mud patch (depth 80 m) and extending out from it into deeper, shelf-break waters.
