Training Future Navy Workforce II
Abstract
Florida State University Center for Advanced Power Systems (FSU-CAPS) is proposing to recruit domestic undergraduate students who ar,e immediately able to obtain DOD security clearance to engage them in state-of-the-art research projects with the goal of encouragin,g them to pursue graduate programs in STEM areas that are of interest to the Navy and generating interest in pursuing careers in the, Navy. By engaging the students in research projects that are part of a broad program on existing Navy funded research activities, t,he students will be provided opportunities to be involved in various technologies and see the big-picture context of their research,to benefit the US Navy and the country. The students will be part of the larger learning community of fellow students, post-doctoral, and full-time researchers, and faculty members. The involvement in a broad research program and being a part of large group of rese,archers working on several related technologies with a common goal will lead to the academic and professional success of the student,s and thereby enhancing the quality of their research and their interest in pursuing Navy, government, or DoD industry careers.Appro,ved for public release - per ONR guidelines
