DURIP: Long duration, Hybrid Autonomous Glider Systems for Advanced Applications

Abstract

We propose the acquisition of two autonomous sampling systems for use in current and upcoming ONR Code 32 programs. This request is,for two new Teledyne-Webb Research (TWR) Slocum Glider Autonomous Underwater Gliders (AUGs) equipped with Rockland Scientific (RS) M,icroRider systems, which add turbulence sensing capabilities, and the ability to host towed acoustic arrays from OASIS Inc, Lexingto,n Ma and under development at APL for the LUSTER Tech Candidate. These AUGs will add significant capability and readiness to suppor,t several upcoming ONR programs in the North Atlantic and research and development programs based the Pacific Northwest.
