Microparticle extraction and analysis from sweat

Abstract

Analysis of sweat is emerging as a rapid and relatively easy process compared with analysis of other biofluids such as blood. Develo, ping analytical procedures using sweat may allow evaluation of a persons physiological status using only non-invasive procedures. T,he project goals are to develop procedures for the recovery and analysis of extracellular vesicles (EVs) shown to be present in swea,t. EVs elevations occur in response to high pressure and decompression exposures and have a relationship to development of decompres, sion sickness (DCS). Therefore, sweat analysis may aid in the evaluation of Navy divers.
