High Temperature Material Systems Integration Facility for Applied Hypersonics

Abstract

The proposed funding will be used to purchase the following major equipment to create a unique facility for integrating ultra-high t,emperature material systems response to relevant hypersonic environments for their application and integration into hypersonic subsy, stems. The relevant research areas that will benefit from this equipment purchase include thermal protection system material develop, ment, screening, testing, and integration into hypersonic weapon systems. Such as, radomes, windows, sharp leading edges, shrouds, n,ozzles, and nosetips are primary candidate prototype parts for ultra high temperature manufacturing science and integration to their, systems.
