Environmental Sensing for Ocean Acoustics

Abstract

Proposed is the fabrication of a system of self-recording temperature and temperature-depth sensors for measuring the water column temperature structure along with a wave buoy for measuring sea surface directional wave spectra as well as sea surface temperature. The water column temperature and sea surface wave measurements will add an important environmental sensing capability during acoustic data collection experiments and will facilitate modeling and interpretation of the acoustic data. This abstract is publicly releasable.
