Robust navigation with multi-function radar on mini-UAV

Abstract

The main problem to solve is to achieve high navigation accuracy with small IMU sensors. The proposed approach is to use radar-based estimation methods in conjunction with a small IMU/GPS to achieve the required accuracy. An additional benefit of these estimation methods is the possibility to support drone navigation in GPS-denied conditions. Furthermore, practical improvements will to be made to the experimental system as a whole to enable operation by non-expert users, and to enable participation in sensor trials.
