International Symposium on Data Assimilation

Abstract

The 9th International Symposium on Data Assimilation (ISDA2023) continues a series of well-received and attended events: ISDA2022 in Fort Collins (USA), ISDA2019 in Kobe (Japan), ISDA2018 in Munich (Germany), ISDA2016 in Reading (UK), ISDA2015 in Kobe (Japan), ISDA2014 in Munich and the first two symposia at the German met office DWD in Offenbach in 2012 and 2011, following the grant vision of Prof. Roland Potthast. This the first time it is organized in Italy, and we are expecting over 150 participants.The workshop will bring together meteorologists, climate scientists, applied mathematicians and computer scientists from all over the world. The participants will cover expertise ranging from fundamental mathematics, atmospheric and climate physics, computational scientists, all way to scientists working at the major operational weather and predictions centers worldwide such as the European ECMWF, Meteo France,UK Met Office or the USA NOAA/NCEP/EMC, NASA/GMAO, or NRL, just to mention some.
