81st Device Research Conference (DRC)
Abstract
The 81st Device Research Conference (DRC) will be held at the University in California, Santa Barbara from June 25 to 28, 2023. After three years of virtual and hybrid conferences due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2023 DRC will return to a fully in-person conference format. For more than eight decades now, the DRC has brought together leading scientists, researchers, and students to share their latest discoveries in device science, technology and modeling. Notably, many of the first public disclosures of key device technologies were made at the DRC. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the DRC#the longest running device research meeting in the world. The high-caliber technical sessions will be highlighted by plenary talks and invited talks by international research pioneers and leaders behind modern electronic technology. The DRC is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Electron Device Society and conference planning is done by MRS Conference Services. Each oral or poster presenter submits a two-page abstract. A selection of these abstracts will be submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore.Key attractions of the 81st DRC include:#Informative and timely short course ina rapidly developing field#Oral & poster presentations on electronic/photonic device experiments & simulations#Plenary and invited presentations given by world-wide leaders#Collegial setting encourages open technical discussion of recent advances##Rump# session to encourage lively debate#Strong student participation with special recognition through awards for Best Student Paper and Best Student PosterThe DRC is coordinated with the Electronic Materials Conference (EMC) that is held during the same week. This recognizes the importance of interaction between device and electronic materials research and provides for fruitful exchange of information between attendees of both conferences.
