Cavitation Erosion Resistant Coatings Workshop
Abstract
The overall goal is to develop a workshop on the topic of cavitation erosion resistant coatings tofacilitate the knowledge transferof the state-of-the-air coating processes and efficacy amongacademia, government, and industry. The workshop will help inform participants in thechallenges and successes of employing such coatings, identify needs and opportunities, and gainbroader perspectives. The one-day workshop will be held at the University of Memphis in theFedEx Institute of Technology and include a tour of the U.S. Navy#s William B. Morgan LargeCavitation Channel, one of the world s largest and most technically advanced high-speed,variable-pressureclosed-loop water tunnel facilities. Keynote speakers and panelists will beinvited from among the world#s foremost experts in cavitation erosion and protective coatings.The objectives of the workshop are to (1) broaden understanding of cavitation erosion resistantcoating technology, disseminate workshop proceeding to reach a broader audience, and exposeparticipants to the capabilities of the Large Cavitation Channel.
