Optimal transport based strategies in waves and dynamics

Abstract

The proposal seeks to develop and explore optimal transport methods to address complex physical processes across many scientific spaces. Jointly with Cornell the work will look at signed signals and flow dynamics in the context of various realistic problems arising in wave and dynamics. In particular this proposal is unique in looking at novel approaches to deal with interdependent physical systems such as turbulent noise in images, multi-scale models and complex inverse problems. The PI has extensive work in areas related to the idea and previous research in seafloor classification through prior ONR grants. The team will bring together students across multiple universities to address the technical challenges and scientific inquiry of gradient flow in the continuous limit.
