Bench-top flow cytometer for ONR funded research
Abstract
This proposal requests funds to purchase of new triple laser flow cytometer, the MACSQuant Analyzer manufactured by Miltenyi Biotec Corp., Auburn, CA. The purpose is to replace an aging instrument that is needed for daily measurements of inflammatory microparticles (MPs) and activated leukocytes. These measurements are required for multiple ONR funded projects where we have shown relationships between MPs and development of decompression sickness. Our current instrument needs replacing because it is over 10 years old and the manufacturer will no longer carry a service contract because of need for frequent parts replacements.
