Workshop: Koopman Operator Theory: Fundamentals, Approximations and Applications

Abstract

Approved for Public Release.In recent years, the development of the Koopman operator theory has seen applications in various fieldsof research, from fluid dynamics to control theory to machine learning and fundamentals of physics. The contributions to the navy mission included a study on predictability of sea ice concentration, of importance to the Northern Sea Route.In this workshop we propose to gather a relatively small (10-20 participants) number of experts in the Koopman operator theory, and its applications to selected fields. The Workshop will be conducted in an interdisciplinary setting to foster discussions on further developments and investigations on the role that this recently rediscovered object may play in theoretical and data driven research.The topics of the Workshop include role of Koopman operator theory and computation in quantum computation and climate change, as well as its application indevelopment of Artificial Intelligence frameworks.
