Characterization of air entrainment regimes

Abstract

The main objectives of the proposed work are to conduct a detailed experimental campaign wave breaking and air entrainment regimes to answer assumptions that challenge existing models, while providing comprehensive validation datasets. Building on years of experience in free surface turbulence, custom diagnostics, and close collaborations with numerical teams, the main objectives of the proposed work are to characterize various regimes of air entrainment. Specifically, we will focus on:1-Air entrainment from wave breaking (spilling breaker) in the presence of initial turbulence2-Air entrainment dynamics from free surface turbulence3-Extension of polarimetric slope sensing to bubble regimes and any facilities
