Naval STEM Education and Outreach Initiatives Support - White Paper Ref. N00014-24-S-F005

Abstract

The Naval STEM Coordination Office has a need to create more STEM professionals by completing STEM research experiments and performing statistical analysis. The Westmoreland Group LLC seeks a grant from The Office of Naval Research, Naval STEM Coordination Officeto conduct research on inspiring the future Naval STEM workforce by motivating participants to solve complex problems in STEM. The successful outcome will be an increase in the engagement in STEM by students K-12 through college and training educators to teach STEM education through Naval STEM Coordination Office directed programs over a three year period. This outcome will impact Department of Defense capabilities by enabling the continuance of a strong military force needed to deter war and ensure national security. Inspiring future Naval scientists and engineers are a key element in maintaining cutting edge technology and advancements for future Naval sailors and Marines. APPROVED FOR PUBIC RELEASE
