Unifying Symbolic Reasoning and Continuous Space Control in Robotics

Abstract

The proposed research project is an ambitious attempt to unify symbolic reasoning and continuous-space control in robotics. We willpursue novel representations and processes that exploit these representations for reliable and efficient reasoning, control, and learning. We will develop an architecture that implements our theoretical commitments, and demonstrate and evaluate its novel capabilities in simulation environments and on physical robot manipulators deployed in complex scenarios.
