PUMA and Low Cross-Polarization Notch Arrays

Abstract

Project will introduce two novel classes of low-cost, low VSWR, and low class polarization ultra wideband (UWB) phased arrays that could enable the development of cost-efficient next-generation multifunctional system RF front-ends for naval platforms. The University will research strategies that would extend the bandwidth of low-cost, low-profile PUMA arrays up to a 10:1 ratio, and it will propose a novel approach to improving the polarization purity of flared notch (Vivaldi) arrays to acceptable levels.
