Post-mortem and In-operando Nano-scale X-ray Imaging of Lithium Electroplating in Bateries

Abstract

The grantee s proposed work consists of focusing on the imaging of dendrites on Li-on batteries at ultra-high resolutions; emphasizing in the 3D imaging of the dendrite nucleation and growth at the 10 s of microns to sub-micron scales using CMU s nano-scale resolution X-ray computed (nano-CT) instrument.
