Ultra-Thin Si (UTSi) Flexible c-Si Solar Cell on Metal Foil for Lightweight Portable Power

Abstract

To develop epi-silcon material for evaluation and cell fabrication, high quality, very thin (20 microns compared to the conventional methods of 150 microns) crystals of silicon and then remove them from the growth substrate. This process will allow the reduction of energy output, thus resulting in a money saver.
