Hull, Propeller and Control Surface Roughness Effects on Ship Speed and Maneuvering
Abstract
This proposal addresses research on the effects of various phenomena causing roughness on the ship hull and how it affects speed and maneuvering. The control surfaces or rudder and the propellers are included as well as these will be affected by the roughness and they in turn will affect speed and maneuverability. Although this proposal addresses surface ships much of what will be developed on roughness should be applicable to submersibles
